My forecast for yesterday wasn't even close.  I predicted a dark dreary day and I was incorrect.  When I woke up this morning, I saw a gorgeous sun rising and very little cloud cover.  The temperature was 7F this morning at 6:00 a.m. When I left for school at 8:30 a.m. the temperature had risen to 11F.
The next time I observed the weather was at 2:00 p.m. and the sky was mainly blue.  There were a few scattered cirrus and stratus clouds.  The sun was almost blinding I had to put on my sunglasses on.  The wind was much more calm than yesterday.  Here are a few images to help with the understanding of the wind patterns and temperature.

Not bad for a cold day in January

Thursday, January 29, 2015

This is my first weather blog.  I noticed today it was gray and depressing.  Very little breaks in the clouds but I did see a tiny spot of blue here and there.  There was a great deal of  cloud cover, Cirrostratus clouds mostly. Very windy today.  Wind was from the south but has somewhat shifted towards the Northwest as it is getting colder.  Winds are at 19mph with gusts of 30 mph.  I live on a hill with no neighbors and very little trees and I had a hard time shutting my door this morning.
Temperature is presently 27F and feels like about 14F.  It will gradually get colder tonight with temperatures dropping to 8F tonight and only reaching 17F tomorrow.
Overall it could be a lot worse but still not an enjoyable day but in comparison with last year's temperature on this day, it is warmer today.
Tomorrow I predict the cloud cover to be close to the same with not much sun so vampires may be allowed to walk with us if there are no breaks in the clouds.
