Beautiful and above normal temps.

It is a gorgeous day today.  The temperatures are warmer than normal at this time of year.  The reason is the Omega High.  Also called blocking highs or blocking anticyclones.  These blocks remain in place for several days or even weeks, causing areas affected by them to have the same kind of weather for an extended period of time.  In the Northern Hemisphere, extended blocking occurs most frequently in spring over the eastern Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Omega highs typically have a low-high-low pattern, arranged in the west-east direction. The picture is an example of a Rex block off the west coast of North America in January 2007.

Temperature today is again wonderful.  Presently it is 55F  It is sunny and presently no clouds to be seen! Clear skies with very little wind but an occasional gust of 7.6 mph N.  It was forecast to be warmer today and it is!!  It may be just a tad cooler tomorrow but nothing to be concerned with.  It should be clear as well.
